Seams and Movement

Slab length in stone countertops can vary, but on average, slabs are 118” by 60”. Determining where in a countertop to create seams depends on the stone. For example, it is easy to create seam locations with a stone like Ubatuba because the grain/movement is very even (below: sink picture). However, a stone like Rain Forest Green is much harder to work with because it is difficult to match up the pattern, particularly when the kitchen is “L” shaped or “U” shaped. We pride ourselves on the attention to detail that we give when matching up the movement and patterns in your countertop for the best possible look. Because we use a stone epoxy rather than silicone to adhere the pieces of your countertop, you can be assured that there will be no gapping and that your countertops will look their best.
